The Davis men hosted Sacramento State for our annual duel at the Port of Sacramento. Our results:

UC Davis defended the Phil Kearney Cup on Saturday, winning the varsity 8 against Sacramento State. In good conditions but against the tide and current, the Davis varsity rowed a 6:15 to win by 23 seconds. The Davis 3rd varsity finished 7 seconds behind Sac State to take 3rd.
The Davis JV broke into fours and took 1st and 2nd against the Sac State varsity 4. Sac State took an early lead, but the Davis A four pulled even at 1000 meters and gradually pulled away, while the Davis B four pulled ahead with 500 to go.
The Davis novice 8 also broke into fours to race Sac State's novice 4. The Davis A four fell slightly behind off the start, but pulled ahead for a 5 second victory, the Davis B four took 3rd.
