The 2005-2006 season marked another successful season for the Aggie oarsmen. The varsity and JV boats won their 2nd consecutive Newport regatta titles, in addition to the 2nd straight team points title. The JV 8 won its 4th straight WIRA title. Varsity suffered a major disappointment, finishing 4th and out of the medals at WIRA for the first time in several years. In their first trip to ECACs, varsity rebounded to defeat the WIRA silver medalist on the way to a top 10 finish, while the JV finished 5th, the third varsity took silver (for a program first ECAC medal), and the team finished 4th in team points ahead of some very strong east coast programs.

2006 saw the addition of a Vespoli V1 varsity 8 to the Davis fleet, along with a second Pocock 4. 2007 will see the addition of at least one new Pocock pair as the program looks to expand its small boat training fleet.

The men's crew is a club (non-funded) sport, and the majority of the oarsmen are walk-on, with no prior rowing experience before joining the team.

The team operates via a combination of limited support from the university, alumni and parent donations, and athlete dues/fundraising. Athletes pay dues on a quarterly basis, plus fundraisers throughout the year. A council consisting of team-elected athletes runs the team, making decisions ranging from hiring coaches to hammering out the annual budget.

Recruiting occurs in the Fall of each school year, and interested students are encouraged to attend the team information meeting held in early October.
