Davis Men's Rowing operates as a club program, and as such generates most of its budget through dues and fundraising. The annual costs of a sport such as rowing include coaching salaries, travel costs for regattas, equipment repair and maintenance, uniforms and other required travel gear, race entry fees, etc. The program also strives to add new boats, oars, coaching launches, ergometers, and other auxiliary equipment on a regular basis, in order to give the athletes both a safe training environment and a level playing field against the varsity programs we compete against regularly.

In recent years the crew has established an endowment fund to offset some of the costs of rowing for the athletes. The McGinity endowment, named in honor of Sean Thomas McGinity from the novice class of 1993, provides dues scholarships for athletes in financial need. The goal of the program is to grow the endowment in order to offset even more of the financial burden on the athletes in the future.

Whether to help fund our yearly operating costs, or to grow the endowment for future years, all donations are greatly appreciated.

For tax-deductible donations, make checks out to "UC Regents". Write on the memo line of the check to specify where you would like your donation to go:

Rent-a-Rower

One of our yearly fundraisers is our Rent-a-Rower program. For $15 per hour per person, the team will arrange to work for you on any number of projects, including home or yard projects, moving help, inventory help, etc. Contact our team fundraiser to request our help, and he will help you arrange a day and time, and will coodinate to have the necessary manpower for you.
